My Life as Open Source

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

Forget about it. It is really quite simple. I don’t recognize the problem which you ascribe to me. If it is a problem, it isn’t mine. If there is indeed a problem, it must be yours since you’re the one who stuck on it. But I don’t know if you indeed have a problem, just speculation.

I think you’re small and stupid, self-righteous and phony…but again, that’s not my problem. I live a good life…a happy life…a full life. There are no disgruntled people whom are part of my life….but there are plenty of disgruntled people whom are NOT part of my life. I prefer it that way. I don’t bind myself to your false moral code, so what? You’re just another pretentious phony trying to control the world.

Gee….thanks for that.

Sin City: ★★★★ ½

The movie was unlike anything I’ve ever seen…tons of violence and nudity… this movie rocks!!

Powers Boothe, Rutger Hauer, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Michael Madsen and Benicio Del Toro and Michael Clarke Duncan. All in the same freakin movie!

Nobody plays the wounded lion character better than Mickey Rourke, he pretty much IS that guy, in more ways than one. Larger than life, and more honest than any other Hollywood actor. There’s a reason why any so-called “tough guy” in the industry looks up to him like some kind of saint. It’s so good to see him get a major part again, he deserves gigs like SIN CITY. Elijah Wood playing a ‘not cute’ character (though he can’t help looking like a creepy Harry Potter).

Anyway - the movie is incredible looking, and REALLY nasty gore/violence (even if mostly in blue-tint filtered monochrome). Strong cast who seem to slot into their roles perfectly, a twisted nasty little story - and it looks like no other movie shot, ever.

I’m looking forward to the DVD to see all the extras making ofs/etc.

Sin City Awards:

Best Story: The Hard Goodbye
Best Actor: Mickey Rourke
Best Actress: Rosario Dawson
Best Supporting Actor: Elijah Wood
Best Supporting Actress: Jaime King
Hottest babe: Jessica Alba
Freakiest charactor: Kevin (Elijah Wood)

What’s yours?

Batman Begins: ★★★★☆

Christopher Nolan nailed it! The script is a little heavy handed on the whole “use fear” thing for the first hour, but after that, it’s a good time. It does what the first one in 1989 should have done and what the 1st Superman(1979) did- telling us the origin of the hero, not the villain’s. One of the niciest touches of the movie was being introduced to a young Jim Gordon. While the movie was dealing with Batman’s origin, it subtly gave Jim Gordon’s as well. This was solid story telling that came full circle and tied up plot points nicely. In short, it was a very satisfying experience.
