- He REALLY lacks serious entrepeneurial sense, doesn't he know there's something called market research?

「網上的歌賣晒咁點算？」 - WTFFFFFFF? Is this man from 1000000 BC.? I don't know where he came to that conclusion, I cannot follow his reasoning at all.

「網上賣歌，不用印海報印唱片，好多人會失業」 - With the advent of sites like itunes, it doesn't mean that advertising revenues will eventually cut down. In fact, quite the contrary, I think the record company and the advertising companies can work together, because mainstream media are still pretty 'mainstream', it's not like that people nowadays only go onto the internet and don't watch TV or listen to radio anymore. Songs and MTVs will still be played, posters will still be built, but itunes can also act as an advertising method, as well as a new distribution method.

I really do think that guy (吳雨) lacks serious entrepeneurial sense...but then again he wasn't hired to do that kind of serious stuff, he was there merely to "clean shoes". What a waster.

There's no need to worry about the future of music distribution I think (ie. downloading music legally), because I think, as every societies on this planet was brought up in law, the majority of people still 'don't like' breaking the law - like those students, if they can do all that, but at the same time being legal, I think they will choose to do that legally as well, "providing the fees are acceptable for the mass".

It's a well known fact that people buy pirates and illegal downloads isn't because they like to challenge or disrespect the law, but either things are too expensive for them or they just don't worth the money they cost. This also ties itself to the lack of legal education - mere moral education sometimes just doesn't work.

This also says something about the record industry in the whole, not only in HK, but everywhere else - they make too much profit to keep itself sustainable in the long run.

Although we are used to be confined by geography, with internet we can explore more and more diverse music which would otherwise costs alot more money, I believe that the record industry can use the internet to their advantage, however a lot of things, including copyright laws, needs to be reviewed, which will take some while.

OTOH, given how good us HKers are at imitating things, when the west had completely developed this business, HK will follow suit.

吳雨的答法堪稱一絕！
至於我地囉，則就是「絕望」了。
